I'm thinking about getting it chemically straightened, but I don't know if that will help.

Honestly? Learn to love your thick hair. If it doesn't grow that way on it's own, you'll never get it to a point where you're happy with it looking "thin and flowing" because your hair just won't do it. Chemically straightening hair (along with perming, bleaching, and dying) do a LOT of damage to hair. It gets dry and brittle and many times takes on a texture similar to straw. A good stylist can give you a cut that will help it hang and move better, but if you hair grows thick (especially if it's curly, too) it's really just a waste of time, energy, and money to try to get it to look like you've got straight, fine hair.

Bleach the hell out of it. Then redye it your normal color.

Repeat as necessary.

Seriously, you're looking at causing your hair and possibly your scalp some serious damage, but it's all worth it for fashion, right?

I think you and I should trade places.

My opinion? Well, you can straighten it or something. Don't chemically treat it! I think there are a bunch of hair styles with long and thick hair.

You need a good stylist to perfect a cut to remove your "bushiness" and a good pair of thinning shears to take out the thickness.

go to the hair salon and ask them to "thin out" your hair. they have these special scissors that they use to make your hair thinner and more manegeble. the good thing is that it doesn't take off any length. as for straitening it, yes chemicly straitening it will make it allot straiter. but it sucks because not only does it damage your hair, but you will have to keep on straitening the roots as your hair grows out.

good luck!
