I had the exact same problem. You just have to find a staightner that works for your hair.

I used to have the same problem and i hated it so i got my hair permed and my hair was totally pretty! I suggest you try the perm idea because it does work

Hi. I think you get bumps cause either you have it on a high setting or your head is sensitive. When you blowdry, youre pulling your hair from the root with the brush/comb. That could be the problem. Your hair will never be fully straight until you do a perm - which I dont suggest chemicals - or you can get get a high quality expensive straightener.

I can give you tips to control the frizzies. When you prepare to wash hair, put it in some big loose braids. Then rinse your hair with water. Only apply shampoo to scalp. You should only do this 1x a week or hair will feel dry. Anyway, take down 1 braid, put conditioner in and smooth out tangles. Then braid back. Do this to each braid. Then wash out. DONT MANIPULATE HAIR ALL OVER. This will cause frizzies.

Squeeze braids until conditioner comes out. If you want, you could leave a little bit. This will still give it that smooth feeling. DONT use a towel to dry your hair! Just squeeze out water. While still dripping wet, apply a moisturizing cream and a leave in conditioner. I usually air dry by having it in big braids and then takeout and style.

If you do this and then straighten it, you might get the effect you want. However, straighening hair often will damage it. No matter what product you have, nothing can protect hair from constant heat. I think you should really embrace your thick hair and work with it. You have so many options. Some people have really straight hair and they have only 1 style. I dont know if your hair is curly, but you should think about that.

I used to try to straighten my hair, but I have learned to work with my curly hair. I only straighten 2x year for special occasions. The products on the market have lots of bad chems. Maybe you should change your hair products. When I changed to more natural products, my hair has responded wonderfully. Here are some websites:

Some of these websites have products to achieve the straight look (even though its for curly hair), but your hair needs good moisture. They have lots of moisturizers and styling needs for your hair and its not greasy either. They are less chems or 100% natural. Cant beat that. Anyway, you could try those tips and see what happens. Oh and try not to comb and brush your hair so much. That sometimes add to the frizzies too. Hope this helps. God bless.
