the wonderful thing about hair is that it grows back. I would start by getting a cut thats a little longer if your unsure. That way it's not too short or a major shock to the system. If you feel the need to go super short, have a blast. Enjoy it either way.

i've made this mistake having thick hair also. you need long hair to weigh it down. Short isn't a good idea for thick hair. buy a really good straightener to flatten your hair so that it doesn't seem like it's so much. believe it or not, shorter thick hair is harder to manage than longer thick hair.

i think that would look good. if you ask a stylist i'm sure they have techniques for "thinning" hair..i wouldn't leave it thick, or if you want to go short, go REALLY short.

Yes, definitely. I have very thick hair and getting it cut short was great. It takes less time to do my hair, there's less heavy weight, and no more dry split ends. It's great. Just make sure you get lots of layers and texture and it will not turn into an afro. Sometimes when I go into the hair salon I have them thin my hair, which helps a lot too. Good luck!

um let it grow to maybe your bust line. then get it thinned and layered thats what i did and it looks great. i have really thick hair to. when they thinned it, it looked like there was as much hair on the floor as there was on my head. it wont look that much different but it will look better. so much easier to dry, style, etc. if its brown maybe get some blond streaks. not to much just a little and it will look amazing

really really thick hair actually looks best if it is either really short or really long...because short helps to get rid of the puffiness and long weighs it down..med length makes it appear thicker and puffier

Thin it out some, and layer it. Long hair can be hott, but there is a very limited amount of things you can do with it. Personally I dig chicks with short hair, so I think It would be alright. Then again I dont really know you, but if it something you think would work, go for it.

I'd say something that comes out a little in the front and layered in the back, BUT ABSOLUTELY NO BANGS! You can use something like "Bedhead" or something to give it shape. But I guess you would have to decide if you are punk, emo, prep, etc.

(I dated a punk girl, and she had the spiky thing going on, but now my gf is a prep, and she is thinking about getting her hair cut, so we will see how that goes. hi, i too have thick hair and i do think its OK do cut it shorter, when i was younger my hair was really short, but i like it long now....but its OK to cut it, just make sure it looks cute and you like it!!!! hope that helps
