i have really thick hair too, all i can suggest is LOTS of layers and ask your stylist to thin it from underneath

Hi i have this problem to, the best style that we both can have is have layers put in wheather your hair is long or short, best if it is long, then run over your hair with the hair straigteners and it will look beautiful. Also it will look thinner when you straigten it anyway. Trust me, with having thick hair my self i though i couldnt get a style to suit me, if i have it short it sticks out and if i have it in a bob it bushes out and when i have it long it looks twice as thick. But layers are the only answer.

It depends on the length. If it's long you could try flat-ironing it to make it straight/flat and more manageable. You could also try having your hair stylist cut some layers into it to add some definition. My stylist always thins my hair out a lot with these special thinning shears.

Everytime you go for a cut, ask the stylist to THIN IT OUT ALL AROUND, it gets rid of that 'thick hair' feeling and your hair will naturally feel soft, thinner and weightless instantly!

I agree with everyone else, but if you are willing to spend some money to get it sorted for as long as it takes for your hair to grow out about 5 inches, i say you get the YUKO STRAIGHTENING SYSTEM done to your hair. It's brilliant. Just like using irons but it retexturises and thins your hair :]
