My sisters hair is the same way, but hers is super curly and frizzy also... I bought her a Sedu Flat Iron and it is amazing! I have used one for about a year, but didn't buy her one until her birthday. She was using a cheap Wal-Mart one before... The cheap ones are ok, but not for her hair! The Sedu makes her hair soft, shiny, smooth, and healthy looking! I have used a chi before and it dried my hair out so bad! I hated it! The Sedu doesn't take out moisture... It's a little expensive! But not more than a Chi, and if you ask her... she'd say it was well worth it! I would look on Folica to look and compare and read reviews... Thats where I bought ours... Good luck!

I know you will hate this answer cause of the price tag involved, but...CHI. There I said it. You are in luck though cause it's Christmas and you can always ask someone to buy it for you as a gift. They cost about $120 and are available at JC Penney Salons and most other professional hair salons. I have bought and used 5 other straightners and I also have thick hair. They left my hair dried and course feeling. And it took forever to get the stick straight look I wanted. Finally I bought my Chi and have been in hair heaven ever since. It actually leaves hair soft, moist and shiney. I don't know how...but it does. Never have to worry about fried out hair and it takes half the time to straighten it out.

CHI CHI CHI CHI CHI- of course. they have a newer one that is the chi nano. it has awesome nano technology and really smooth gliding and even heating plates. the even newer ones now have a digital temp. control too. they also have silver in them which is an anti-bacterial agent. (silver in the interworkings of course-the plate is ceramic all the way)

the money is worth it

ooh-P.S. target or any other place that is not a salon or prof. beauty supply is not supposed to be carrying this brand. It is a problem that the companies are trying to deal with-they are usually off the back of a truck and tampered with,and in addition to being bad that voids the guaruntee too. thats y these thing say "guarunteed only when shold by a professional" on the box!
