Curly thick hair?
u don't have to chemically treat curly hair. just get a product called the maxiglide. it's a straightening plate w/ pins througout. go to amazon.com, hsn.com, ulta.com, or maxiusbeauty.tv to order one.
i've had mine for years, and couldn't do without it.

i do not think there is any other way. If you want to get your hair not as THICK but still curly go to the hair dressers and get it thinned. My friend has curly thick hair and thats what she did and it took a lot of weight off her head.

you can use GHD's hair straightners (good hair day = GHD)
but when your straightening you have to partition your hair....i normally do the bottom of my head first..then middle...then top!
good luck..and you can buy GHD hair straightners from hair salons...hairdressers!

...you want to straighten you hair without using chemicals or a flat iron...not sure that that is possible considering they're just about the only two things that can straighten your hair.
I have heard of John Frida frizz ease hair serum...I've never tried it myself. I have thick curly blond hair and I just spray it with all natural olive oil hair spray, it comes in a green can usually sold in the ethnic hair section. It doesn't straighten your hair but it keeps it alot smoother, less dry looky, and way less frizzy!
