What is the best method of hair removal if you have dark thick hair?

I don't have a lot of money to spend and laser treatments are not an option because I get keloid scarring. I have heard electrolysis is an option, but very expensive. I have tried depilatory creams but they don't work at all. Shaving only lasts for about a day and then I end up with stubble. Its a bit better when I have a new sharp razor and I moisturize right away but nothing seems to work for more than a couple of days (and it grows back darker and thicker). Any suggestions?

Waxing has been my best bet all these years. Like you, I have dark thick hair that starts to grow back the next day after shaving. At least with waxing, it lasts 2 weeks for me. I go to a school to get it done...$10 for each leg.

I know there is a lotion out there for your legs ( or where ever) to help the hair growth slow down,

Also make sure your skin is warm and moist so you are pulling the hair out at the root,

plus yes more you shave the faster it grows. So if you're able to. don't shave until needed.

If its your legs..winter is coming and pants will be work a lot, I know a lot of people who in the winter month only shave once or twice as there is no need ( no shorts, dresses etc)

I'm dark haired and over the years,i've tried so many different ways of hair removal,and the only good one is waxing!

Yes,it hurts a little,but over time,the more you wax,you get used to the pain and less hair does grow back.

Personally,after i wax,i'm smooth for about 2 weeks before re-growth starts.

I hate shaving because even after i've shaved,it still looks like i have "stubble" because you can see my hairs dark roots under the skin.

With waxing,it pulls the hair out from the root,so your skin is left lovely and soft,without a trace of hair.

I'm not sure what hair you're wanting to remove,but i wax my bikini line,legs and arm pits.

Wax can also be used on the face (eyebrows,mustache etc),though i've never used it on my face,i just pluck there.
